Early years 2 - teacher and student

"The thing I have enjoyed most is meeting new people and learning together, and being able to share what I have learnt with my setting and work colleagues. It has given me a whole new way of working with and understanding children and their development."

This Sector-Endorsed Foundation Degree in Early Years (SEFDEY) approved course enables you to combine academic study with learning at your place of work. The course covers a wide range of critical and contemporary issues in the field of Early Years education. It explores the voice of the child, international perspectives, child protection, pedagogical approaches, communication theories and multi-professional practice.

Route to higher education

It provides a route into higher education for experienced and committed early years educators, enabling you to progress from Level 3 to a foundation degree.

Work while you study

You work whilst you study, giving you many opportunities to bring theory directly into your practice and vice versa.

Join a network

The teaching takes place locally in Feltham, meaning you will join a committed network and community of local early years professionals.

Gateway to future opportunities

This course enables you to apply for the BA (Hons) top-up course to complete your undergraduate degree and pursue postgraduate opportunities and otherwise enhance your professional development in education and related fields.

Relationships-driven

We encourage our students to be fully embedded in their EY settings and broader community to deeply ground their practice. We firmly believe that cultivating strong relationships with students, staff and families is crucial.

Course fees

In 2023/24 the fees for this course are £6,300 (UK students). These tuition fees can be paid using Student Finance for those that are eligible.
